Hi, I’m Jennifer! My blog, Kutti Couture, is named after the Tamil word “Kutti,” which means “sweet little one.” I’m pretty sure I grabbed my sewing machine the day I saw a positive pregnancy test!

I have a multicultural family, and my father-in-law in India helped me sew my first few crooked stitches. I wouldn’t have been able to progress as much and as quickly as I did had it not been for my super encouraging husband Herbert and this sewing community! I grabbed my DVD that came with my machine and ventured online to the many sewing blogs out there for inspiration. My blog is a way to give back–to offer inspiration, to back fabric and pattern companies that I adore, and to continue challenging myself daily with new designs and techniques.

I’m also the seamstress behind my shops, Lifecycle Apparel and The Conscious Cloth–both crafted after my family’s devotion to sustainable products that are healthy for the environment, farmers/workers, and all involved.
