Girls’ Peplum Top for Cool-to-Spring Transition

Michigan in March can be 20 or 58 … and likely all in the same day. This is the time of year when we feel the spring colors and get a glimpse of sunshine — but we still need to stay mostly covered.

The New Horizon’s Manhattan Peplum (which also includes a dress option) is our perfect ticket for this seasonal transition!

And in this seafoam soft sweater knit has us dreaming of seafoam and clouds!! ☁️🌊

The Pattern

Although there is a neckband option included as well, I chose to fully line our peplum in cotton spandex. It’s extra breathable and adds some extra stability with sweater knit. It’s also very soft to the skin. Lining the peplum or dress is an option offered within the pattern.

The pattern also includes a rounded back (similar to the front) or a “v” shaped back. We chose to keep more coverage because of our seasonal weather (i.e. rounded/higher back).

Having a sustainable and functional closet is incredibly important to us. We want to be sure that the clothes we make are being worn as much as possible and will last. Both the fabric and pattern style satisfied this need for us with FLYING colors!! I sewed this top just four days ago, and my daughter has chosen to wear it either all-day or for certain outings on 3 of the 4 days!

Our verdict is a definite YES on these!
