The Tawsha Dress from New Horizons Designs is the easiest, cutest A-line dress project! The day before the first day of school, I asked my girls, “Did you want a new dress for your first day?” 🙈 I mean…who would say no? My girls speedily ran to my fabric stash, chose their sparkly unicorns and rainbows, and my eldest said, “But not a tight one please!” Tawsha was a no-brainer. It’s one of the easiest dresses to construct (need a super speedy project?!) and has a beautiful non-hugging A-line shape while still being cute as all get out!
So once we got through our first day excitement, I thought, “This would make the perfect tee!” I had secretly bought my eldest (who had outgrown her closet!) a pair of cheetah pants. I wanted to gift her a full outfit, so I was in need of the perfect black tee. Tawsha to the rescue!
I decided on the length based on another tee that fit her well (one I had also sewn). And I kept the width true to the Tawsha pattern. It helped add a nice flow to an otherwise basic tee. She can wear it tucked half in, all the way out–or whatever feels great at the moment!
So if you’re wondering what New Horizons pattern to buy next, I definitely suggest the Tawsha! It’s so easy to convert into a great t-shirt; and the original pattern makes the cutest (and quickest) dresses!
